19th July – Miranda Sykes and Jim Causley – Providence Chapel IMPORTANT UPDATE

After all the planning and anticipation of our special one off concert featuring MIRANDA SYKES and JIM CAUSLEY we have to inform you of a change due to circumstances totally beyond our control and for very understandable reasons.
Only this morning Miranda due to a very bad chest infection has had to pull out of the concert with no prospect of a last minute recovery.
Her health has to come first and we at Providence fully respect this and wish her the speediest recovery possible.
This left us with no other option than to find a replacement for Miranda as all other plans were far too advanced to cancel.
Jim has been able to acquire the services of a Devon singer Maggie Duffy from Brixham (maggieduffy.co.uk) who has an illustrious career and is willing to step in to ensure the event goes ahead. We hope that you all understand the difficulties of deciding to go ahead and we fully understand that if you have bought a ticket to see Miranda then you may wish to cancel and in that case a full refund will be made.
If not then we hope for a warm summer’s evening in a beautiful location with wonderful entertainment and a memorable experience nevertheless.
There will be some availability on the door on the night, but as we have a limited capacity of approximately 95 to 100 then it is best to visit jimcausley.co.uk to ensure you have a ticket for what still promises to be an enjoyable evening.
We do hope that when better Miranda will appear at Providence in order that you can listen and see her in our special little chapel here on Dartmoor.
Tickets are £15 pp and include light refreshments served to you in your seat in the interval.
We do hope you will support our somewhat altered concert as we planned to donate 50% of our profit to Hospice Care at Home which is a vital community asset and we have been supporting since 2022 when the service was extended to the Okehampton area.
This service like so many other health issues is facing cuts amid the hard times they face today.
Thank you for your understanding on this unforeseen change to our plans.
