About

Our village hall is set in a spectacular location with views towards Castle Drogo and the Teign Valley.

The hall is historically unique on Dartmoor in being a WW II Nissen hut, formerly the cinema hut of the US Army camp at Bridestowe. Opened on its present site in 1949 it has been lovingly maintained, refurbished and modernised for continued service to the community.

Suitable for themed events, wedding receptions, parties, talks, and overnight stays for group activities on Dartmoor, it is well equipped with kitchen facilities, a committee/changing room, stage with lighting and ample tables and chairs. Fire regulations allow seating for 100 people. Table tennis equipment is also available for hire.

The hall can be found at Wonson Head (postcode EX20 2JA), a hamlet a mile south-west of the village, and is 50 yards from the village pub, the Northmore Arms which also serves meals. The village hall location is here, look for the orange arrow.
